Laura Linney, best known for her strong but vulnerable characters, is one of the most celebrated American actors of the present. Her father was a renowned playwright and her mother was nurse registered. After summers together with her father, she started to become interested in theatre. Then she studied acting initially through Brown University then at the Juilliard School. Her Broadway career after completing her degree after which she made her television debut the following year. Her appearances have been in a variety of movies, television shows and stage productions since then. She received numerous awards during her professional career, including the two Golden Globe Awards. She has, however, continued to act on the screen as well as on stage, in spite of her many nominations.
